Art Workshop with Mariya
May 17 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Emotional Agility and Art
In this workshop, participants will learn how to utilize emotional agility and creativity to build resilience, improve wellness, shift perspective, and align their actions with their values. Emotional agility will be used as a term coined by Dr. Susan David (2016) – defined as a way to “be in the moment, changing or maintaining our behavior in ways that align with our intentions and values” (p.11). Together, we will create a fun and engaging atmosphere while exploring this science-based approach. We will discuss how emotional agility can be applied to caretaking and other aspects of participants’ lives.
This workshop will be facilitated by Mariya Keselman-Mekler (ATR-BC, LPC), a board-certified art therapist, and a licensed professional counselor. Mariya has worked in medical, psychiatric and community settings, and has witnessed the impact of caretaking on individuals, families, and communities.
