Our Board

Each member of Nancy’s House Board of Directors gives generously in time, talents, and financial resources to help Nancy’s House serve a growing need to help caregivers.

We are actively seeking additional board members, as some have moved, are on leave, or have fulfilled their term of service. Please send us a message if you are interested.

Elissa Lewin, LMFT (SHE/HER/HERS)

Founder and Board Secretary

Elissa has maintained a private practice for over 35 years. During that time, she also worked for 10 years as an adjunct therapist for the Council for Relationships, where she received her post-graduate training in couples and family therapy. Prior to starting her own practice, Elissa worked in human services, serving people with developmental disabilities. Throughout her work experience, the needs of caregivers, and the emotional, physical, and interpersonal effects of burnout, have been a recurrent theme. Nancy’s House is Elissa’s answer to meeting these converging needs.

Kimberly Terry, MA (SHE/HER/HERS)

Executive Director

As of July 1st, 2021, Kim has begun serving as the ED of Nancy’s House. Kim joined Nancy’s House as a research intern in 2014, then progressed to be a board member in June 2015 while finishing up her Masters program in International Peace & Conflict Resolution. Kim is currently completing her doctorate in Org. Leadership and continues to be an education and strategic consultant for large healthcare organizations. Kim’s background is in case management, vocational training, and job coaching with persons who are living with disabilities and/or have significant mental health issues.

Hannah Olanoff, MSS, LCSW (SHE/HER/HERS)

Board Member/Retreat Facilitator

After a lengthy career in theatre marketing, including historic Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC, Hannah turned her attention to opening a medical clinic dedicated to the treatment of Immune Disorders with a focus on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Using her extensive background in grassroots organizing in women’s and LGBTQ rights as the foundation to her practice, Hannah is now a practicing psychotherapist (LCSW) with a specialty in trauma and interpersonal relationships. Hannah joined the board in early 2021. Hannah is the Outpatient Clinic Coordinator at Einstein Healthcare Network. Hannah serves as one of the facilitators for our retreats. Hannah knows the caregiving story from both the professional and personal sides.

Rola Aamar, PhD (SHE/HER/HERS)

Board Member

Rola joined Nancy’s House as a Board Member in December 2021. She works at Relias as a Senior Clinical Consultant (clinical effectiveness). Rola attended Meredith College, ECU, and Texas Tech. She has a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. Rola is adding her experience and passion to the board of Nancy’s House.

Dr. Maurice Baynard (HE/HIM/HIS)

Board Chairperson

Maurice is a scientist in the areas of sleep and chronobiology. Maurice was appointed as Board Chair in July 2021. He is also currently the Director of Diversity, Equity, & inclusion at the University of the Arts in PA. Maurice has been a speaker for several NH events and continues to show passion for the mission.

Cathy Sikorski, Esq. (SHE/HER/HERS)

Board Member

Cathy joined the board in Fall 2017. A published humorist, Cathy is also a practicing attorney who limits her practice to Elder Law. Her combined legal and humor expertise has made her a sought-after speaker where she tackles the Comedy of Caregiving and the legal issues that affect those who will one day be or need a caregiver. Cathy has been a caregiver for the last 25 years.

Mitch Balaban (HE/HIM/HIS)

Board Member

Mitch joined the board in September 2021. He is the Executive Director of Always Best Care of Eastern Montgomery County in Jenkintown, PA. Mitch brings a wealth of knowledge in the home care space. He received his BA of Management from Temple University. Mitch brings his knowledge and sense of humor to the board of Nancy’s House.
