What is Nancy’s House?
Nancy’s House is a comprehensive not-for-profit program designed to meet the physical, emotional, and practical needs of family care givers. It is a “residential respite,” which means that you, the caregiver, come to Nancy’s House for a 2-night stay to relax, rejuvenate, and find support.

Who is Nancy?
When Elissa became a caregiver, she sought the help of a massage therapist, Nancy Brown. Nancy had a son with autism, and it was a conversation with her back in 2001 about "Wouldn't it be nice if there were a place for us to go to be taken care of the way we take care of these other people?" that planted the seed for this program. The name is a thank-you.

If I am at Nancy's House, who is with my loved one?
Your loved one is at home, where he/she is comfortable and familiar, with a caregiver of your choice. It can be a paid caregiver you already use and trust, or it can be someone else you know. If you have no one to turn to, please visit the Library page for a list of home care services.

How am I supposed to pay for all this?
Nancy’s House understands that many caregivers live on tight budgets, and we don’t want to add any more stress to your life. All that we are asking is $50 per session. If you can afford to give us a larger contribution, we will gratefully accept it, as it will help us provide respite for more caregivers. All contributions, above the $50, are tax deductible.

Doing this once just isn’t enough. Can I come back?
Yes, you are welcome to come again. In fact, the program is designed so that caregivers can come back to replenish themselves every 4 months.
